Basketball fans in Halifax got their first taste of the newly formed battle of Nova Scotia Thursday.
Despite some early communication issues, the Halifax Hurricanes took down the Cape Breton Highlanders 103-86 at the Scotiabank Centre.
With the win, the defending-champion Hurricanes improved to a perfect 4-0 on the season. The Highlanders fall to 1-4.
“In the first half we came out a bit shaky, but in the second half we came back for each other and finished the game strong,” said CJ Washington who scored a game-high 27 points for the Hurricanes, including 22 in the second half alone.
