Halifax has its share of secrets. It's underground network of tunnels are one of them.
For many years rumours have circulated about the infamous Citadel Hill to Georges Island tunnels but there has been little research done to back up these claims.
Last week, I ventured deep underneath the Halifax Club, located at 1682 Hollis Street, to investigate one of the city's real tunnels, an age-old 50-foot cobblestone passageway that is frozen in time but only rediscovered recently. Halifax Club's past president Ward Skinner thinks the hidden tunnel was used as a food delivery passage.
