Job Description: Habitat for Humanity is looking for several volunteer cashiers at our ReStore in Burnside. Duties include greeting customers, operating sales counter, responding to customer inquiries, answering and processing phone calls and operating the cash register to document merchandise sales. The ReStore is a home improvement warehouse located at 81 Wright Avenue in Dartmouth and is open to the public 9-5 Monday to Saturday. Current openings are morning and/or afternoon shifts Monday to Friday. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Without ReStore volunteers, we wouldn't be able to accomplish this mission.

Job Title: Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame Event Supervisor
Job Description: Help supervise the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame facility, which is a free museum open to the public year-round. Event supervisors are needed before and during events at the Scotiabank Centre, where the Hall of Fame is located. Volunteers will open the museum for events outside of the museum’s regular hours of operation. These events include hockey games, basketball games, other sporting events, concerts, and more. Volunteers will turn on all lights and multi-media, welcome and assist visitors, supervise children in the sport simulator, track visitor numbers, and ensure that the museum is closed securely at the end of the shift. Volunteer hours are flexible, and shifts average only 2-4 hours in the evening or on weekend afternoons. The location is easily accessible in the heart of downtown Halifax, and this is a great opportunity to gain volunteer experience in a fun and exciting environment that appeals to sports fans, history buffs, and anyone who enjoys interacting with people.

Breast Cancer Peer-to-Peer Support in which survivors provide peer-to-peer support to women who are going through the breast cancer experience.
