Job Description:
Help supervise the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame facility, which is a free museum open to the public year-round. Event supervisors are needed before and during events at the Scotiabank Centre, where the Hall of Fame is located. Volunteers will open the museum for events outside of the museum’s regular hours of operation. These events include hockey games, basketball games, other sporting events, concerts, and more. Volunteers will turn on all lights and multi-media, welcome and assist visitors, supervise children in the sport simulator, track visitor numbers, and ensure that the museum is closed securely at the end of the shift. Volunteer hours are flexible, and shifts average only 2-4 hours in the evening or on weekend afternoons. The location is easily accessible in the heart of downtown Halifax, and this is a great opportunity to gain volunteer experience in a fun and exciting environment that appeals to sports fans, history buffs, and anyone who enjoys interacting with people.
