From Halifax Metro News:
Russell Zwicker is hoping empowerment will be the best new tool in a Haligonian’s belt.
Zwicker, a self-proclaimed carpentry hobbyist, launches Hands-On Halifax this Saturday at 6070 Almon Street, the same building as the Halifax Tool Library and Bike Again.
“It’s something that I wanted to see in the city that didn’t exist. If I wanted to take a class on how to build a chair, then I guess I had to also build the school where you took the class,” Zwicker said with a laugh in an interview Wednesday.
Zwicker decided to get into woodworking a couple years ago when he wanted to tackle basic jobs around his downtown Dartmouth home, he said, but was “surprised” to realize there was no accessible space to rent tools or learn carpentry basics.
