Lil MacPherson may be the underdog choice for mayor, but as a self-proclaimed risk-taker she says the race “doesn’t scare me at all.”
MacPherson launches her environmental platform for mayor Friday afternoon in the Dartmouth location of her co-owned restaurant, The Wooden Monkey, and said she has other platforms for small business and livable city issues, like affordable housing, lined up.
MacPherson said she’s feeling pretty confident many people are “ready for change,” especially those running into red tape at City Hall, and although the odds are against her one “never knows” what will happen.
A recent Corporate Research Associates survey showed 85 per cent of decided voters polled would support Mike Savage for mayor, but MacPherson said everyone also told her opening her restaurant would never work - and she’s beaten “some amazing odds.”
