Local Publisher Opens to Novel Submissions

Cape Breton speculative fiction publisher, Third Person Press, has once again opened to novel submissions from Atlantic Canadian writers. For now at least, this is an open-ended submission call. "We hope to keep receiving submissions on an ongoing basis, but if we get inundated, we will close until we catch up," the publisher notes on its website at http://www.thirdpersonpress.com/.

The publisher, which is interested in all forms of speculative fiction--science fiction, fantasy, horror, magic realism, paranormal, steampunk, and all their various sub-genres--is looking for the first three chapters or fifty pages of completed novels (70k-100k words) and a 3-5 page synopsis. Novels may be aimed at adult or young adult audiences.

Full submission guidelines and instructions on sending your submission can be found at http://www.thirdpersonpress.com/p/submissions.html. If you're not certain your manuscript falls within what they're looking for, the publisher also provides useful general guidelines on their site at http://www.thirdpersonpress.com/p/expanded-submission-guidelines.html

Third Person Press has produced five popular anthologies of short fiction, all in the speculative genres, and all by authors from Cape Breton or with a substantial connection to Cape Breton. Details on all these books can be found on the publisher's website as well.
