A home built in Kentville more than a century ago has been destroyed after catching fire early Sunday.

According to Ian Fairclough, the deputy chief of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department, crews received a call that a two-and-a-half storey home on Aldershot Road in North Kentville was on fire around 2 a.m.

There were four people inside at the time, said Fairclough, but all escaped without injury.
