May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and Halifax Regional Police remind all drivers that motorcycle traffic will increase on Nova Scotia roads during the warmer months and to drive safely.
HRP encourages riders to work together with motorists to share the roadway for everyone’s safety and to follow these safety tips
Because of its small size, a motorcycle can be easily hidden in a car’s blind spots (door/roof pillars) or masked by objects or backgrounds outside a car (bushes, fences, bridges, etc). Motorists are reminded to take an extra moment to look for motorcycles, particularly when you’re changing lanes or turning at intersections.
