RCMP in southwest Nova Scotia have charged a 29-year-old man with murder as part of the investigation into the disappearance last month of Steven Boudreau, 61.

Police said in a news release Thursday that Cody Reid Palmer, of Torbrook, N.S., has been charged with first-degree murder in Boudreau's death.

Boudreau was reported missing on April 19 from Hopewell in Pictou County. Police said Thursday his remains have been recovered, although a news release did not indicate where or when.
