A Nova Scotia woman convicted of killing her daughter and trying to cover up her crime is being granted another six months of day parole.

Penny Boudreau strangled her 12-year-old daughter, Karissa, in 2008. She initially claimed to police that the girl ran away after the two argued outside a Bridgewater, N.S., grocery store.

The girl's body was discovered two weeks later on the banks of the LaHave River.

Boudreau eventually pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in priso…
