Halifax District RCMP are investigating what they are describing as two sudden deaths in Cole Harbour.

In a post to X, RCMP say they were called to a residence on Poplar Drive at 9 a.m. Monday.

They say the two people located at the residence were "known to one another."

In a subsequent post, RCMP say the investigation has just begun but "we can confirm that there's no public safety risk."

The post said the public could expect a heavy police presence in the area.
