The Interim Director of the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) found no reasonable grounds to believe that a Halifax Regional Police Officer committed a criminal offence in connection with injuries sustained by a female during arrest outside a Halifax pub.
On October 24, 2023, a female attended a pub in Halifax. Due to her behaviour, she was asked to leave, and then had several confrontations with security officers at the pub. Police were flagged down by pub staff, and the female was arrested. She was released the next morning and was later diagnosed with a fractured rib. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the woman’s injuries were not sustained as a result of the officer’s use of force and no criminal charges were warrante…
