Update regarding crane incident in Dartmouth

The Halifax Regional Municipality is providing residents the following update on impacts from the damaged crane at a construction site on Wyse Road in Dartmouth.  

Macdonald Bridge  

The on-site Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) officer from the Province of Nova Scotia’s Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration has confirmed that the crane is stable, allowing the Macdonald Bridge to reopen, effective immediately. 

Evacuation area 

The area around Faulkner Street, Lyle Street, Windmill Road and Wyse Road remains closed until further notice. However, as previously reported by Halifax Regional Police (HRP), Dawson Street was reopened overnight, allowing residents in that area to return home.
