Woman struck by train in Bedford suffers non-life-threatening injuries

Halifax police say a 24-year-old was transported to hospital after she was struck by side of train

A 24-year-old woman suffered what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a train in Bedford, N.S., according to Halifax Regional Police.

In a news release, police said two women were walking on a railway track Wednesday night when they noticed an approaching train.

The women tried to move off the tracks but one of them was struck by the side of the train, the release said.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. There is no update on her condition.
